On November 18,2016 the late president Ferdinand Marcos was buried at the Philippine Heroes' Cemetery.
According to the Interments Policy of the Philippines Heroes Cemetery also known as (LNMB), the Armed Forces of the Philippine (AFP) Regulation G 161-373, the people that are qualified to be buried are late Philippine presidents, active and retired military personnel of (AFP), National Artist and Scientists of the Philippines , and other individuals who brought honor to the country or the people with Medal of Valor Awardees however, the same policy also prohibit "personnel who were dishonorably separated/ reverted / discharged from the service and who are convicted of final judgment of an offense involving moral turpitude" meaning, even if your not President, but you did something dishonorably you might as well not be allowed to be buried in Philippine Heroes Cemetery.
When it was announced that there were plan that President Marcos will be buried at LNMB or (Libingan ng mga Bayani), there were a lot of people who protest against the burial plans, saying that Marcos was not a Hero and angered with President Duterte's approval of it.
Long ago before most of us were not born yet, corporate and international media depict Ferdinand Marcos as an evil, corrupt dictator who would issue orders to torture and kill innocent civilians.
I am not sure if ist really true, even if the elderly people I talked to said it's true. I mean , if your the President of the country, why would you kill and torture your people instead of helping them? The reason you are elected of the people is because they believe you could do great things for your country . Whenever I read about the Martial Law, I am saddened about the people who died and suffered during those years.
But we have freedom to express what we feel about the issue. If you'll ask me, I am in favor fir the burial of the late president at the LNMB.
Why? Because I believe , that humans are not completely bad. I have read some other international articles about him that says he's one of the best president of the country that ever had, although the other believe otherwise. Again that was long long ago, and we have to face the present. We have a new President and we have to believe in him that he could do great things for the country . Let the late President rest in peace and let us all not forget that even God forgives.
