Why is attention essential in the learning process?

1 47

Attention is essential because it is the first step in learning process. We can't understand/learn things which we don't first attend/ give attention to. We can't think about anything unless we concentrate our own attention to it. Attention is also important in mental process, without it other mental processes like imagination, learning and thinking are neither possible nor useful. Therefore, in a classroom setting, a teacher should sustain the interest of learners. There are some ways to sustain it; by incorporating mystery into the lesson, not repeating the lesson material(s), creating classroom games, giving students choice, using technologies, making the lesson interactive, relating the material to the students lives, using specific everyday samples, or by choosing culturally relevant materials and many more techniques/ways.
