Once upon a time, there was a wise king, who ruled with grace, and poise.

One day, one of his subjects had a family crisis. And went to him for help.
The man had two wives who got pregnant in the same month, and delivered the same night.

His wife Chioma was careless, and pressed her baby to death while they were sleeping.

When she realized what she did, she replaced her baby with that of her co-wife, Elizabeth.

Early in the morning, Elizabeth woke up to find her baby's died but was able to recognize that the baby wasn't hers.

So she confronted Chioma, and Chioma, lied while shedding tears that her baby was the living one

During the disagreement, their husband asked them what was happening. And they explained, amidst tears, and sobbing.
Since their husband couldn't resolve the issue, he went to the king.

The king summoned the two women to his palace, for questioning.

And because the two women kept saying that the live child was theirs, the king asked that the child be divided in half, and given to both women.

Chioma agreed that the child should be divided. But Elizabeth cried, and begged that the king shouldn't kill the child. Instead, he should give the baby to Chioma.

When the king heard this, he knew with convictions that the baby belonged to Elizabeth, and not Chioma.

This was because it can only be the true mother that would want her child to stay alive at her own expense.

And so the king stopped the killing, and gave the baby to Elizabeth as hers, and told the family to leave.

So Chioma saved the life of her child, and went home with her husband.

I hope you enjoyed this.

PS: The storyline is inspired by the scripture portraying one of the instances, that King Solomon delayed his wisdom and ruled as the wisest king on earth.
