In December 2019, there was a cluster of pneumonia cases in the city of Wuhan, China some of the reported cases had reported visiting or working in seafood and live animal markets in Wuhan. Investigations found that the disease was caused by a newly discovered coronavirus the disease was subsequently named Covid-19. It was spreading within China and to the rest of the world on January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern.

In this article, will be discussing covid 19 and how to avoid getting caught. So stay tuned and be attentive.

So what is CORONAVIRUS?

  • A large group of viruses that consist of a core of genetic material surrounded by a lipid envelope with protein spikes gives an appearance of a crown.

Based on studies CORONAVIRUS can affect both humans and animals.

  • History in human

    • SARS-COV respiratory syndrome coronavirus first identified in China in 2003

    • MERS-COV Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus was first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012.

    • SARS-COV2 was discovered in China in 2019

Origin of the virus

It is circulating in a range of animals, sometimes these viruses can make the jump from animals to humans it is called spillover and could be due to a range of factors such as mutations in the virus or increased contact between humans and animals for example. MERS-COV is known to be transmitted from camels and SARS-COV is from civet cats the animal reservoir of the new coronavirus is not known yet but there are rumors that it comes from Bats.

How is the transmission of the virus?

It is really important to understand how COVID-19 can be transferred from one person to another so we can do a precautionary method to protect ourselves from the virus.

  • CORONA Virus can be transferred through droplets when an infected person released those droplets through coughing, talking, or sneezing. ( So, it is really important to wear a mask whenever we are going to crowded places or having a conversation with anyone.)

  • it can also be transferred if the droplets land on an object and when another person touches them and then touches their eyes nose or mouse.

Symptoms

Here are the things you need to be aware of if you get caught by the CORONA Virus

  • Incubation period - It can range from 1 to 14 days from very mild to severe

  • Common symptoms are fever, fatigue, respiratory symptoms such as cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath.

  • Some studies say that it can cause a loss of taste or smell and some develop a skin rash

  • For severe cases, it can cause Pneumonia, organ failure, and death.

How to prevent getting the Coronavirus or COVID-19

COVID-19 is real and it's happening around the globe. The best way we can protect ourselves was always wearing a mask every time we are going outdoor. Although being vaccinated was always the best option. Right now we have multiple brands of vaccines such as Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac and etc. so let's all be vaccinated when we got the chance.
