Why you should probably get married early This wasn't the article I planned to write for today but I got the idea for this after reading princess Busayo's article about **rushing into marriage and regretting it** and I gave my opinion about why women are generally advised to get married early, so I thought: "**why not just make an entire article out of it**", and this is it. https://read.cash/@Princessbusayo/rush-in-and-regret-f64dff2d Please note that this article is just for educational purposes and I am not in any way advising anyone to rush into marriage, you will probably end up regretting it. You should look before you leap, especially when it comes to choosing a life partner, someone you're going to spend the rest of your life with forever, and ever and ever and ever ๐Ÿ’€ till death do y'all apart, so, no pressure ๐Ÿ˜‰.

What am I talking about?; A woman has about 10% of her eggs remaining at the age of 32, it's a shocker, right? I am not going to go into how it is calculated and the whole math behind it (if you want to know about the figures and how it's calculated, check out this article by **Healthline**) but you should also know that the fertility of a woman starts declining rapidly after 30. What this simply means is that the chances of a woman getting pregnant in her 20s are higher than when she's in her 30s. https://www.healthline.com/health/womens-health/how-many-eggs-does-a-woman-have After the age of 30, the chance of getting pregnant is around 20% and that value keeps getting lower and lower as she ages until she gets to the age of menopause. And the average age for menopause is 51, some women reach that earlier than 51 while some get to that much later, but it depends on several factors and one of them is the number of eggs a woman is born with; some women have more eggs from birth more than others. I haven't actually gotten to the scary part of all these, sure it's safe to say a woman can still have kids even at the age of 45 (even if the chances are lower) but the problem with those eggs is their qualities also decreases with age. What this simply means is that as a woman gets older, she's left with low-quality eggs. So yeah, as a woman gets older, both the quality and quantity of her eggs decrease! You might think it isn't a big deal if the quality reduces but the truth is that having low-quality eggs will result in a higher chance of genetic abnormalities. Translation: the chance of ending up with a child with a genetic deformity is higher when a woman is getting older. (Example of such is **Down's syndrome**). Did I forget to mention that the risk of a miscarriage is also higher? Well, it is. https://www.healthline.com/health/down-syndrome#symptoms Now you might notice I only said: "the chance is higher" and didn't just say something like; "miscarriages are associated with older women" or "a woman will have a deformed baby at an older age" and that's because this is not certain. It's only a probability but it has a higher chance of occurring at an older age when compared with younger age (like the 20s).

Sometimes, they might have other reasons (which might be selfish). One of those reasons might be to marry off their daughters to someone rich so that financial aid can come into the family (this is especially true for some families of poor status). You might think something like this isn't happening but it does, I have come across a lot of stories where a lady is pressured into marrying someone rich so that the whole family can benefit from the groom's wealth. But despite the handicap that nature has given women in terms of childbearing, it's still not an excuse to jump into marriage without due diligence. It will be foolish to say something like "I am not getting any younger, so I should just marry the first man that comes my way". I mean, marriage isn't a life-and-death situation, isn't it better to remain single than to rush into a marriage that will claim your life?

**Source** https://www.freepik.com/free-photo/young-beautiful-stylish-woman-wedding-dress_13867795.htm#query=Bride&position=4&from_view=search I believe a balance has to be struck between these things, just like every other thing in life. Marriage is a very sacred institution and shouldn't be rushed into. We are having numerous divorces and broken marriages everywhere because a lot of people don't do proper research before getting married. Most countries are even lucky to have divorce laws where you can safely get out of a marriage, but in a country like the Philippines where there isn't one, once you're married, you're hooked for life. So, it's best to be careful now, wouldn't you agree? Ending thoughts Just a friendly reminder, this article is not meant to apply any unnecessary pressure on anybody but it's just something I think y'all should know. There are a lot of things we don't know about the human body but learning about some of the things that influence most processes that go on in our body won't harm anyone, right? **Thanks for reading ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–** **Thursday July 14, 2022**
