I, a holder, a trader and an accumulator of different kinds of cryptocurrencies, can't deny that I am also feeling a little bit uncertain about the market and feels a little bit worried watching my portfolio losing so much of its value.
Why did I only said "a little"?
Well, simply because I haven't used a single penny from a loan just to invest it in cryptocurrency. I haven't used any cent from my own pocket just to buy a cryptocurrency that I want. And everything that I have in my portfolio came from free and hardworks on looking for opportunities - that's why I'm still worried.
I have read an article from newindianexpress.com that a certain woman committed suicide after losing a trade in Bitcoin trading. The money that the woman used were the money she raised from different people and invested in Bitcoin. And when the price of Bitcoin got dragged dramatically, she lose a huge amount and maybe got a depression from and declared that she lost all of her people's money.
And just recently, in this current correction that we are experiencing, someone committed suicide because of it again.
The guy used his emotions and assumed that the market correction will be over soon and it's time for a bounce and traded with leverage using all the money he has in his account. But unfortunately, what he thought was wrong and it ended him up with zero balance in his account. With the depression he had from it, he came with a decision of ending his life.
I know, when think about investing our money, we usually think and expect huge gains and makes us feel more excitement especially if the asset we invested in is moving great. We can even think of borrowing money to someone else just to put it in that asset thinking that it can have more value without knowing the risks of losing it.
I have been in cryptocurrency since 2017, I have seen how the market crashed in 2018 (fortunately I don't huge funds invested) and saw it recovered amazingly up to this year. And with that recovery, newcomers were exposed to the potential of digital currencies and made their mind thinking of investing their hard earned money for a huge returns. But that doesn't always end well.
Market correction is now just normal for the foundation of the future of cryptocurrencies. Of course, with more than -50% of the coin's value are losing, being in distressed and disappointments is possible especially for the newcomers who used their life savings or used a borrowed money to invest.
If you are losing so much value now in your portfolio or in the coin you have invested, unless you are not doing leverage trading, there's no need to panic. What we are experiencing now is for the future of digital assets. When something goes up, there will always a down side. Any when something goes down, there will be more room for upward potentials.
Message to Everyone.
The crypto market is so volatile, you must know that. If you are only thinking for the shot term, then don't feel disappointments if it is not going the way you expected it.
And another thing, never ever borrow a money from someone else thinking you can double it easily. Avoid using leverage when trading, you can win huge amount and at the same time you can also lose a huge amount from it, not unless you are already a pro trader. And lastly, never ever use your or someone's life savings to invest, that's a bad decision.
You lose a $100, a $1,000? Then feeling so depressed? That's understandable. But come to think of this, thousands of traders and investors are/can losses millions of dollars every trades but still standing with heads up. Not just because they a lot of money to take the risk again, but because of the determination they have and the strong will that they can always bounced back from the lose.
Never lose hope. These bad times will never last forever, but the strong one will.
