Good morning my friends, one of my favourite homemade-junk food for today , super tasty and you will love it, let’s do this

Ingredients

600 gr. flour, hard

9 gr. dry yeast

25 gr. granulated sugar

1 tbsp. salt

140 gr. butter, at room temperature

240 ml milk, lukewarm

100 ml water, lukewarm

1 egg, diluted for spread

For the sauce:

5 tomatoes

2 tbsp. oregano, dry

1 tbsp. basil, dried or 10 leaves of fresh basil

1/2 tbsp. anise, grated

1/2 tbsp. granulated sugar

Salt

Pepper

Filling materials:

Ham, sliced

Bacon, sliced

Gouda cheese, grated

Preparation

1

Execution for the sauce: Peel the tomatoes and throw them in the blender, add the remaining ingredients and beat until the sauce is homogeneous. Once it is ready, we empty it into a bowl and leave it aside.

2

Execution for the peinirli: In the bucket of the mixer, add the flour and the salt, mix with a spoon, add the butter and mix with the hook on low speed for 1 minute.

3

In a large bowl, pour the remaining ingredients and stir with a whisk until the yeast dissolves.

4

Pour the mixture from the bowl into the dough and continue beating on low speed for 4 minutes. Increase the speed to medium and knead for 2-3 minutes until it becomes a smooth dough.

5

Lightly grease a bowl and put the dough, cover with a foil and let the dough rise for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

6

Divide the dough into 4 equal parts, flour our work surface and with the help of a rolling pin open each dough into an oval shape 3 mm thick.

7

Grab the dough from the edges and transfer it to a baking tray that has been coated with oil paste. Gently pull the edges of the dough to make it a little longer.

8

Put the sauce and the ingredients we want on top of each dough, leaving 2.5cm. blank from the edges. Turn the leftover dough on the sides, over the filling to create a nest and pinch the edges so that they stick.

9

Cover the peinirli with cling film and let them swell for 30 minutes.

10

Preheat the oven to 190 ° C up and down on the heating elements. Brush the peinirli with egg and bake for 30-35 minutes until the dough is golden.

11

If we want to put an egg in the filling, we break it over the peinirli 5 minutes before they are ready.

12

Serve hot straight from the oven

Hope you enjoy this as I do;)

Stay safe and healthy my friends and take care of your people

My best wishes from Greece
