Well that's just the way it is folks. In nature all systems and kingdoms have independent and differentiating characteristics, but at the same time, they work in a universal harmony, and under the principle of correspondence, the affectation in one level affects all the others.
In the same way that man has the blood that transports hemoglobin and other components that nourish the cells of our tissues, the trees have the sap, which circulates from the branches to the roots and vice versa, nourishing with its starches and sugars the cells of that tree.
When the moon is in the phase of first quarter and new moon, the sap is with preponderance in the inferior part (in the roots), then the wood of the trunk has less liquid and humidity, therefore it is drier and ideal to be cut. Being a more uniform and harder wood, it will be less wood, it will be less appetizing to termites and will last longer in time.
Unlike cutting the tree in the phase of last quarter and full moon, where the sap rises in the trunk, and therefore, its wood is more humid, soft and vulnerable to termites.
That is why, when choosing a wood to make doors or windows, it is even better to choose hardwood trees such as mahogany or oak, without forgetting the above.
Attached is a photo of a pine wood frame (a soft wood) where termites have destroyed the entire center.
If that Pine tree, was cut in full moon phase, and used without any treatment; then it was condemned to be a delicacy for termites.
