An Economy Driven by Attention - People Now Live Online

• People no longer come online, they live online

• We are in an economy that is driven by attention.

• Money can be made if you learn to sell. You don't need to own a physical or digital product to sell online.

There is no magic behind being broke or living a financially confident life. Money goes when you buy and comes when you sell. Selling is simply offering value in exchange for rewards (cash, recommendations, etc). If you buy more than you sell, you'd be broke. If you sell more than you buy, you'd be free of debt.

In my 100 level at the university, I knew depending solely on my parents for my upkeep would not turn out well (myself and 4 siblings were in higher institutions at that time). So I set out to discover ways I could earn some cash in school without distracting me from my academics. I don’t like stress so running a physical business wasn’t on the list at all.

In my deep search, I discovered 4 major things that influenced me greatly.

1. People no longer come online, they live online

If you want to have a good market share, start building whatever you're involved in online. Where people are, money is not far away. You don’t stand a chance in the coming days if you don’t have a strong online presence.

2. To make money online, you don’t need to be so smart

If you can learn and take ‘imperfect' actions in faith, you'd make lots of money online. You can shorten your learning curve by letting someone mentor you early.

The strategy for almost all online businesses has a similar blueprint. If you get someone to walk you through it, you'd make money faster than you know it.

3. You can make good money online if you learn to sell

Even if you don’t have any digital or physical products to sell, money can be made if you learn to sell. You can start with affiliate marketing.

Imagine a Nigerian student who earns $100 weekly from affiliate marketing. That’s $400 monthly and this figure is not fixed. He records higher figures some months.

Being an introvert and someone who doesn’t show off, you would not know if he didn’t tell you.

Imagine being in school without stressing your parents about money. They called him at one point because they were worried he wasn’t asking for upkeep money.

Affiliate marketing is simply selling someone's product and/or services and getting paid a commission on each sale made. You serve as a middleman between who has a need (customer/buyer) and who offers the solution to that need (producer/seller/product owner).

Simple enough right? Yeah, it’s that simple.

Affiliate marketing is a high-income skill you should learn this year. It can make you lots of money if you pay attention to it.

4. Graphics command attention

Irrespective of the niche you are building a personal or corporate brand online, you need to be able to use amazing and compelling social media graphics if you want to command attention and make more sales. We are in an economy that is driven by attention. If you can’t grab people’s attention then you can’t grab their money too.

There are two ways you can achieve this for yourself or your business.

• You can hire the services of a graphic designer: if you want to stand out online, you should have a monthly budget to after for this. This is fairly affordable though. But if investing your money for good graphics that can scale up your profit in business (because you're a start-up) is not an option for you, then consider the next option.

• You can learn to create compelling and amazing social media flyers (even with your smartphone). This on the other hand will save you lots but will demand a lot of time from you.

The message of the day: Focus can birth everything you desire. Focus is not a talent but a skill you must develop intentionally. One proof that you are becoming really focused is that your focus distracts many from their focus. If nobody complains about your focus then you're not yet focused 😊.
