Communication is Irreversible.

Communication is a synergistic interaction between a sender and a receiver either consciously or unconsciously. It could be in various forms such as a correspondence, verbal, oral e.t.c. This understanding of communication can be compared to _Becko Wolvin and Wolvin definition on communication with reasons which contains some key words useful in communication such as receive, sent, messages and verbal.

One of the principle of communication which resonate with an experience I had is that indeed "Communication is irreversible". This can be described whereby, when we utter or pass an information to another party, we can not take or retrieve it back, whether it is what we intended to say or not.

About two years ago, I had cough which seemed to trouble me every morning. At that point in time, my father often offered me bitter cola but I do turn it down. On that fateful morning, he offered me bitter cola again that it could cure my cough, unnecessarily my anger grew and I said I don't like bitter cola that, apart from it being bitter, it also looked like a toxic plant seed to me. I said this very rudely be and in anger. My father where he was sitted said in calm words which were whatever might next time be wrong with me healthwise, he wouldn't move a muscle to help mitigate the situation. Immediately, I realised how rudely I had expressed my emotions . I apologised and had to take the bitter cola to prove my level of remorse.

The different approach i would have taken in respect to the above written scenario is that I could have collected the bitter cola to eat because the man is my father and he knows best because he has more experience than I have and the outcome if taken this different approach would have lead to more closeness in relationship with my father. Till date I had wished I didn't utter such words but I could not take it back because once it is out, it is out. This simply means I should be very careful and examine my choice of words before uttering them.

My conclusion is that when you communicate with someone, know that you can not turn back time and reverse what you have said just like you not being able to unsqueeze the tube of a toothpaste because tommorow you will have to live with the guilt on what you've once said just like I have till date.
