All residents of social media (social media) are busy sharing photos of old faces edited through the FaceApp application. This application is considered quite entertaining, because it displays facial predictions when you get older. Either just curious or worried about the face when you get old. In fact, young couples also want to show their desire to age together, by uploading photos together.

Not only ordinary people, actresses and politicians are busy uploading edited photos. It's so trendy that #AgeChallenge appears. The hashtag invites others to show that wrinkled and slightly gray face. Instead of worrying when you see an old face, it creates pride. In fact, usually social media users tend to upload things that display a good image.

Besides being able to see aging faces, this phenomenon is also a place for people to laugh and even bully because of the final result of the edits. It's quite confusing too, often people edit photos to look attractive, it actually causes annoying comments. Lots of hints, "the filters are outrageous! The edits! Fake faces!" Even though edits do not change the original shape of a person's face. Can just smooth the skin or just brighten it.

Maybe this phenomenon answers people's hints about the beauty of people's faces. Showing an old face full of wrinkles to cover the mouth of julid. Stopping jealousy, envy for a face that looks proportional.

Talking about the trending uploads, it turns out that it produces a new look on the social media homepage, especially Facebook. The social media homepage suddenly changed like a nursing home, a place for elderly people. Medsos is crowded with photos of old people, as if they are residents of a social media home.

Looks fun, because it can predict faces in the next 10 to 20 years. You can even imagine the face of your boyfriend, crush, parents or yourself. Even though it looks fun, users actually need to be aware of this application. It is possible for FaceApp to store, distribute, and even sell photos of users for commercial purposes, even though the photos have been deleted.

Uploading old photos is only for entertainment. There are no specific benefits that can be used as an excuse. In recent cases, facial recognition technology was used to search for missing persons. Predict facial changes according to the time that they occur. Even though it looks useful, there is a lot to worry about from this application.

Reporting from inet.detik.com (18/07/19) even though this application claims it will not sell data to third parties, certain information is shared with advertiser partners, of course for monetization. One of the issues highlighted is, FaceApp requests access to all user photos.

As users, need to be aware of this, not just trying new things without thinking about the impact of the application. Unfortunately, Indonesians are sometimes too quickly influenced by new things and rush to take a stand. So, beware.
