The price of inaction is far greater

Jane was a nurse and had no one in the earth until she met John. Soon they got in love and she got pregnant. Everything was going good as John wanted the baby so much. But one day his mother could learn the news and got furious.

That night she went to the hospital where Jane worked. She was sure that girl would be poor and so she was. The mother told Jane that she didn't wanted her disgusting genes. She gave her a bundle of money and told to get rid of the baby.

In a distance, Jane saw John standing. She was at a lose and rushed to him. She asked him if they were not in love. But John said that his mom knew what was best. It was clear to her that John's mom controlled every decision of her son.

When John's mom was pregnant, her husband left her. She didn't abandon the baby and raised him all by herself. But she always thought who would need her with another man's baby. And then she cried.

When John grew up, she began to live off of him. He was happy with his earnings and almost all of it he spent for his mom. But her mom was not a bit happy. She said to him that she had spent all her youth raising him. And so she demanded that he had to provide her with a happy and rich life no matter how much John earned.

John was in stress with his mom's demands. And it was obvious that his earnings was not enough for his mother. So, she decided to find him a rich bride. Her plans were almost ruined when Jane came into the story.

She found out that a poor nurse was his son's girlfriend and also was going to be his baby's mother. She decided that she would not allow it. And so that night she went to Jane.

The week after that awful meeting, Jane called John. That time his mother was with him and so he had to take permission to pick the call. He said to her mom that he really loved her and wanted that child. Her mom got furious and snatched the phone. Then she declined the call and said that she would find a decent girl for him.

The old lady kept her words to her son. She soon found a rich girl. In her opinion, the perfect girlfriend for John. He was confused what to do but didn't got courage to refuse his mom.

His mom told him that Megan's father was a wealthy businessman. And so he had to make her fall in love with him. Soon after this Megan fell in love with him and John also felt for her.

Megan was charmed by him and soon they got married too. But their life together turned out to be a living hell for John. Megan was cranky and was used to partying all the time. She hardly had time for John.

One day, he made her to sit for a while and said that he thought they would spend some time together. She exclaimed with irritation and said that he was too boring for her and left in a minute. John increasingly remembered Jane. He thought how comfortable he was with her.

Then John decided to save the marriage at least for his mom's sake. He thought children might save it. One day Megan was having sun bath near the pool. He went to her and suggested to have a baby. But she strictly said no. She thought she was not created to be a mother.

Poor John decided to divorce Megan after this. But then his mom came. She forbade him to do it. She told him that she finally had enough money. And so he had to endure that just as she had done when she gave birth to him.

John again agreed with his mother. He was not happy in obvious and remained unhappy for years.

But one day everything changed. John's mom was sitting in the garden and he was having a shake. That time Megan came to them in tears and said that her father's business was ruined. She asked her husband if they were beggars then. John was confused but his mom quickly came up with a solution to the problem.

She said that they were not beggars because John would work extra jobs to provide for them. He was already doing a job and said to them, "Just me? Maybe you should find a job too?" His wife replied that they were made for beauty; not for work. And his mom agreed with his wife.

That was the last straw for John. He got angry and said it was enough. For the first time in years he made his own decision. He said that he would no longer be their servant. And then left.

It was raining outside and John decided that he would leave his mother and wife. He was enjoying his life because for the first time he heard his heart though he had to live on the street.

His mom and wife ran out of money and had to sell their all property. John didn't got any other information about them. And he had become a homeless beggar.

He had to sleep on the bench near the street on under the bridge. He often blamed himself for what had happened and remembered Jane. He thought she was the only one who really loved him.

He had no money, no food and he had to starve. But he made his own plans. Occasionally, he pretended to be sick so that an ambulance would take him to the hospital where he would be fed. This was the only mean of having some food for him.

But he could not continue it longer. One day, he was taken in the hospital and a doctor figured out his plan. He told him to go away as that was a hospital; not a shelter.

That time another doctor showed up there. She asked the other doctor about what was going on there. He said that, "Dr. Olivia, this beggar is pretending to be sick!" John said that he was sorry that he had lied. He added that he usually slept under bridge but there would be frost that night.

Dr. Olivia examined him and his torn clothes. She felt sorry for him. She said that they had a lot of free beds in the hospital. So, he could stay one more night. John became so happy and thanked her.

After work, Olivia visited the beggar. He again thanked her for being so kind to him. He said that he had not been always like that. John told the doctor that his wife and mother were both greedy and angry. Olivia felt sorry but said that all people make mistakes.

She again said that her mom had passed away a few years ago. She was a nurse and hid who her father was all her life. If she had ever drawn their family photo, her mom took it and tore her father from the drawing. It was because he abandoned her as a child. But she was always dreamed of meeting him.

Suddenly, John froze in shock. He asked the doctor if her mother's name was Jane. Olivia was surprised and asked how he knew that. He said that he had been sure that Jane had got rid of her.

It turned out that Jane returned the money to John's mother and decided to raise the baby alone.

Despite the fact that Olivia could not forgive her father. She could not welcome him in her house. But she decided to help him and found him a nursing home where he could calmly face old age. In her departure, Olivia said to her father that a person can cause evil to others not only by his actions but also by his inaction.

The price of inaction is far greater than the cost of making a mistake.
