Lily came to the doorstep of her mom's room and saw her mom and her husband, Kevin having alcohol together. She was astonished and felt something was wrong. So, she asked them what they were doing. Her shameless mother told her something that completely broke her. She told Lily that she had told her husband she was pregnant with his baby and then they were celebrating.
She was shocked and her husband added more intensity to it. He told her that if she knew how much he wanted a son, but she could not give him. He pointed to Lily's mom and said that she managed to be pregnant quicker than her. She started crying and asked her mom how she could do that to her. Her mom replied that she was born when she was only 15, and it ruined her youth. So, now she wanted her life back.
She started crying harder. That day, Lily was there because she was going to tell Kevin that she was pregnant. But suddenly, her dream of a big happy family collapsed. It was night and raining outside and her mom packed her stuff. Then kicked her out of the house and told her that she could live anywhere she wanted but forbade her to come back there.
Lost in her thoughts, she walked down the street devastated and didn't noticed a car that appeared out of nowhere. Luckily, the driver noticed her and stopped the car. He got out and came to Lily. He asked her if she was okay. Her tears were not dried up yet and told him that she was scattered. Looking at her face, suddenly the man could recognize her and asked if she was Lily for being sure. Lily also recognized him. It was John, her former classmate. At the time, she had no idea how much happiness that accidental meeting was going to bring her.
John told her that she was soaked to the bone and then asked her if he could take her to her home. She replied that she had no home anymore. Then she requested him to take her to a hotel. When she got in his car, he suggested her go to his place for a cup of tea. He added that she needed to warm up. She asked him if his wife would not mind. But he assured her of that.
When they reached, Lily saw that John's house was completely a mess. He explained that he had been living alone for two years. His wife and daughter died in a car accident. And working in an orphanage was the only thing that helped him get out of his depression. Lily also shared her sad story. She said that she dreamed of having a child for so long, but at that time she would not be able to provide for it. She didn't even have a job; she had got fired a month ago. John offered her that she could stay at his place until she had the baby. She thanked him and said that it can happen only if she could help him around the house. He then said that he would then pay for that. Lily thought for a while and then agreed because she needed money.
Meanwhile, she started looking for another job, but no one wanted to hire a pregnant woman. Luckily, John was always supportive, kind, and caring. But right after the baby's birth, he completely changed. Sad and silent, he came to the maternity hospital for Lily. He didn't take her to his home, but to the orphanage. She was shocked and didn't understand what was happening. When they reached, John told her to get out of the car and bring the baby. With tears in her eyes, Lily did what he said.
When they got inside, John took her to a back room. There were two-week-old twins there. He told her that her mother abandoned those babies. Her ex-husband left her right after she gave birth and then she was abusing alcohol. Lily was sad and said that she could not leave them there. But douted that the authority would not let her as she was not married and didn't have a home. John then told her that she could have a home and a husband.
Tears were again gathering inside her green eyes. She asked him what he was talking about. He didn't reply but sat down on his knee and proposed to her. And instead of answering, Lily was crying. But this time, those were tears of joy. She then said that she was dreaming of unconditional love and support all her life. And she also said that she didn't get it from her mom or her husband but from John. She felt so blessed and said, "I do, John, I do!"
Love is not something you go out and look for. Love finds you, and when it does, ready or not, it will be the best thing to ever happen to you.
