Dr.STONE Season 2 kicks off the Stone Wars in January 2021

Shortly after the first season ended, Dr.STONE season 2 burst into view to tease the coming STONE WARS. The battle between the Kingdom of Science and the Empire of Might is officially set to begin in January 2021, and a new trailer and key visual are here to preview new characters and snippets of footage before the war kicks into full gear.

The official website has also updated with some new character profiles. 

Dr. STONE is based on the Jump manga of the same name written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired and describes it like so:

Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon that turns all of humanity to stone, the extraordinarily intelligent, science-driven boy, Senku Ishigami, awakens. Facing a world of stone and the total collapse of civilization, Senku makes up his mind to use science to rebuild the world. Starting with his super strong childhood friend Taiju Oki, who awakened at the same time, they will begin to rebuild civilization from nothing... Depicting two million years of scientific history from the Stone Age to present day, the unprecedented crafting adventure story is about to begin!

I think this series will have more seasons because after the stone wars there are new adventures awaits and new enemies or friends will appear in the other seasons! I can't wait to watch it, even though I already read it in the manga I can't still wait to watch it!
