Google is bringing a large privacy feature for the Android messaging app. The company has announced the introduction of end-to-end encryption to make texting more secure.

If the feature is removed, Google or any third party person or organization will not be able to read messages from Android users. The technology site Senate reported on Thursday that Google had announced the privacy feature.

Last year, Google launched its own messaging service for Android phones. Modern features like receipt reading and index typing have been added to the service. Google has given the update thanks to a technology called 'Rich Communications Service' or RCS.

The whole thing Google did was to establish RCS as an alternative to the 25-year-old SMS process. Google said on Thursday that users around the world have received RCS. When Google released the update last year, it didn't have any end-to-end encryption. At the time, the company avoided the issue as "complex enough" and "technical complex".

Note that Apple's iMessage, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger already has end-to-end encryption.

This time, Google has announced to bring the privacy feature in the Android message app to keep pace with the competitors. Encryption facility will come in one-on-one chatting option in the initial stage. End-to-end encryption will be enabled automatically if the RCS feature is turned on by both users.

Google will start testing the privacy feature this month. The work of bringing features will continue till next year.

Android is now one of the most popular operating systems in the world. Nine of the ten smartphones sold in the market have the Android operating system. The operating system also acts as a service gateway for Google's search and maps.
