Only five days before the start of the 2020 Premier League football season, Manchester City players Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte have tested for coronavirus.
Both players now have to be in isolation even though they're not showing any symptoms.
A statement by the club says: "Manchester City FC can confirm that Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte have tested positive for Covid-19. Both players are currently observing a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine. Neither is displaying symptoms of the virus."
They become the latest footballers to test positive for COVID19. Rivals Manchester United have seen their captain Paul Pogba test positive as well as PSG stars Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes; Chelsea players Mason Mount, Tammy A
