Controversy on Salt and Beans..

They've always been a controversy as to when a salt should be added to beans, with the believe it has effect on its getting soft.

At what stage do you add salt to your beans when cooking?

Immediately at the beginning?

OR

In-Between at half way?

OR

When its almost done.?
