Trusting God

*Text: John 6: 6*

Praise the Lord that we don't know everything that is going to happen because that keeps life fragrant.

But uncertainty can also be frustrating. We are a curious people and we want to know everything about everything, even the ones that does not really concern us.

We are however limited in what we can know. God for very good reasons has decided to keep somethings away from us and has chosen to reveal some to us.

The hidden things belong to God, but the ones He reveals to us are for us and our children (Deut. 29: 29), we will just have to be content with that.

For this reason therefore, there are things we go through that surprise us and catch us off guard.

Unexpected events happen in our life all the time, some pleasant and some not too pleasant. When these things happen we are caught off guard, thrown off balance and several times we don't have a ready made response to the issue because it was unexpected.

These was the situation the disciples of Jesus found themselves when a multitude numbering over 5000 gathered to hear Jesus and lost track of time.

The place was a lonely place far from town the people had been there a long time listening to Jesus, that it would appear insensitive to just dismiss them like that without first giving them something to eat.

They will need the strength derived from the food for the journey back to town. But this was unexpected, the disciples never planned for it and so they were caught off guard, they knew not what to do.

However, praise be to God that nothing in your life catches Him off guard or surprises Him. God can never be overwhelmed, He can never be stranded, He can never be out of option. With Him there will always be not just a way, but many ways out of any problem. Alleluia!

The things you are dealing with right now, at this moment, God knew before we even came on the scene. That's pretty mind-blowing, but here is the kicker... He also knows how you are going to get out of your tough situations.

He saw the curve coming long before you did and He prepared you for what He already saw coming.

While we may wonder how it works out and what happens next, we can trust in our God because He knows all along what He is going to do.

Look up to Him therefore and be enlightened (Psa. 34: 5). He will not allow you to be embarrassed, with Him on your side you will not be put to shame.

🎯Father, I give you praise because nothing overwhelms you, nothing catches you off guard. Your name be praised forever.

🎯Thank You for Your provision of growth in my life. You love me so much that You do not want me to remain who I am but to grow in Your good gifts.

🎯Father, it is incredibly of great comfort to know that you know who I am and who I will be, please see me through the changes that will lead to the transformation in Jesus name.

🎯Father, for every trial that comes my way, there are fruits that you desire the trial to produce in my life, in all trials therefore may the right fruits be produced in Jesus name

🎯Father in all circumstances and situations, my trust in you will not be shaken in Jesus name.

PART 2

Second text: Phil. 4: 6-7

It is believed that when we come to God in prayer, we step beyond ourselves and enter into conversation with the God of the universe. In the book of Hebrews, it states that we should "come boldly to the throne of grace." Imagine... weak and broken, we can come to God's throne with boldness knowing that He will hear us.

Our text is an admonition to us that rather than grumble and complain over any matter, we should bring such matters to God in prayer Rather than be anxious or worried over any matter, we should bring such matter to God in prayer.

If our prayers will be done rightly, then we must allow for quality time to give thanks to God by acknowledging what He has done and also giving thanks to Him for that which He is yet to do that we are believing that He will do. When thanksgiving is absent in our prayers, it is evidence of selfishness and self-centeredness, such prayers are not likely to receive the desired attention from God.

As we come to God in prayer and lay before Him our thanks and petitions, we begin growing in our faith.

As we share with Him our hearts desire, we should sincerely seek His desire for us and key fully into it even if it means dropping our own desires.

What joy to know that we can lift our voice to God and in return find hope, peace and a life forever transformed. Shalom

Prayer Points

1. Father thank You for loving me and allowing me to speak to You today. Because of Jesus, I am able to come to You directly and know that You are listening.

2. Father I give thanks to you for all that you have, all that you keep doing and all that you are yet to do but intend to do in my life. Your name be praised forever in Jesus name

3. Father, please continue to change my heart and mind into that of Jesus.

4. Father I lift up my family and friends who may not know You. Give me an opportunity to share the Gospel with them today. In Jesus' name.

5. Father as I engage the weapon of prayer more and more in my life, I ask that my life will be changed more and more such that ultimately I will be the person you want me to be in Jesus name. Amen
