The news that the coronavirus vaccine 'Bancovid' invented by the domestic company Globe Biotech has been listed by the World Health Organization is commendable. On October 15, the World Health Organization (WHO) added three vaccines discovered by Globe Biotech to its list of Covid-19 vaccine candidates. These are the DNA plasmid vaccine , Adenovirus Type 5 Vector , D614G variant LNP-encapsulated mRNA .

Globe Biotech is the only company in the world to have a list of the top three vaccines. The second wave of corona infections is currently taking place around the world, and a recent study has found that the D614G variant is 100% responsible for this infection. The Bangladesh Council of Industrial and Science Research (BCSIR) has also confirmed that the 'D714G variant' is responsible for the infection in our country. It is a matter of pride that the Bancovid vaccine, developed by Globe Biotech in its own way, is the world's first and only vaccine against the D614G variant, which has been shown to be completely safe and effective in pre-clinical trials.

How did it start?

Since the introduction of Covid-19 in Bangladesh, Globe Biotech has been working to develop a vaccine for the disease.

Scientists at Globe Biotech discovered a special type of mutation by analyzing the genome sequences that existed internationally at the time. This mutation is D614G.

The number of mutations was very low at the time, said Globe Biotech CEO. Kakon Nag.

At the time, he said, they realized that this genome mutation would have serious consequences in the future. Then they decided to work on it.

"At the time, no one really imagined that this strain would dominate the world," he said.

According to Globe Biotech, D614G is currently 10 times more contagious than any other strain in the world, and no one has yet developed a vaccine candidate against it.

When will you come?

According to Globe Biotech, according to the rules, the clinical trial of this vaccine should be completed within five to six months.

But Globe Biotech says management and approval matters are not in their hands.

There are separate authorities for these matters. Officials at Globe Biotech said the vaccine would be available within six months if they approved it as soon as possible.

How far will this vaccine go?

Mr. Nag said the D614G vaccine is currently undergoing a first-stage clinical trial. Globe Biotech Limited said it plans to go beyond the rest of the steps and make the vaccine available to everyone.

The agency says several countries have already expressed interest in trying out the vaccine.

Mr. "Just as Bangladesh is vying for the Chinese, Indian or Russian vaccines, other countries have also expressed interest in testing our vaccines in their countries," Nag said.

Noting that no one else has the D614G candidate for the vaccine, he said they hope it will be a "superior" vaccine.

How will the bancovid vaccine work?

Globe Biotech Limited CEO said. When the bancovid vaccine is applied to the human body, its molecule called mRNA will enter certain cells in the body, Kakon Nag said.

This molecule will come close to the spike protein of the Covid-19 virus SARS-Cov-2.

This spike protein will then act as an antigen and subsequently produce antibodies.

Mr. Nag said that if vaccinated, the process of making these antibodies in the body and its memory cells and T-cells will be made. As a result, if the person is infected with the SARS-Cove-2 virus, these antibodies will be able to detect it and they will quickly remove it from the body.

He said the virus would no longer be able to infect humans.
