Vanishing social values

The social values are the principle or standard or norms of behaviour of people in a society. The values that we had passed in the past are: respect the elders, always tell the truth, lying in a sin,to study is ascetic meditation of students,love your neighbour,envy is a sin,gentleness and humility is the essence of all vertues,etc.The source of values of our country was the religions existent during the past centuries. All religions had the same social values. All religions may be different in their external rituals, but their essential values are same. For example all religions insist that the elders should be respected , that you should always tell the truth,that lying is a great sin,etc.These values are now disappearing rather quickly. The parents are being totally disregarded, and no value is being given to them for their eldership. These are all signs of degeneration. The causes are many,but the most potent and widespread cause is the world-wide propaganda against the old values, through mass media and electronic media. Mad pursuit of money and sex is turning the whole world into a mad house. Marders are taking place chiefly as a result of this pursuit. Fatal diseases like AIDS,high blood pressure,and venereal diseases are spreading like AIDS, high bloof pressure, and venereal disease are spreading with in controllable speed.The breaking off of the social and family bonds,isolationism, individualism, nihilistic attitude towords all things,and the consequent chaos are taking the place of old values.It is for us to decide which values are better - the values of the old,or the new,and try to accept the better one.
