Sir Isaac Newton was a famous English scientist. His life-time falls between 17th and 18 th centuries. He was borm on 4 January 1663 in Wools Thorpe, Lincolnshire, England. He died on 31 march 1727 in London.He was the son of a yeoman. He wad raised by his grandmother. He studied at Cambridge University during the period from 1661 to 1665. There he discovered the work of descartes, the great philosopher. His experiments with sunlight led to the discovery of corpuscular nature of white light and laid the Foundation of physical optics.He built the first reflection telescope in 1668.He was appointed Professor of mathematics at Cambridge University in 1669.He got his most famous work principia Mathematica published in 1687.It is regarded as the seminal work of modern science. It describes the laws of motion,Orbital dynamics, tidal theory, and the theory of Universal gravitation. He was engaged in heated arguments with his colleagues like Robert Hooker and G.W Leibniz. The last 25 years of his life were spent in his arguments with them. Newton still remains one of the greatest scientists of the world of all time
