Student of all levels have to take their exams, and have to pass then in order that they may get certificates. And most students desire, and they should desire that they get good greats in their results. They have to prepare for their exams methodically and systematically so that they can achieve their desired grades. But most students do not know how to prepare for their exams. For them the following steps are suggested. First of all, they should collect syllabus and book lists and past examination papers at the very outset of the course. Past exam have also the advantage of clearly indicating the type of examination to be held. They should take care note of the number of papers to be taken, the different areas covered by each paper, and the number of questions on each paper. They should find out the degree of choice available to candidates, group together all the questions relating to the same topic ,and draw up a list of topics covered by each paper, and the number of questions on each paper. They should find out the degree of choice available to candidates, group together all the questions relating to the same topic, and draw up list of topics covered. Second, when the examination eventually approaches they should look at the past examination papers again, this time in greater details. A superficial approach does not give any true indication at all of what they can do .They should look carefully at each question and write outline notes and plans. Thus they will be able to detect possible weak areas in their knowledge. Third ,having memorized the notes and plans they should try writing out an answer in full ,which is a very useful practice. Fourth, they should have regular periods devoted to revision. The practice is far more useful than the last minute attempts to revise.Regular tests and assignments can be of great help in this Matt, but if a particular course does not give such tests or tasks weekly revision is the only way ,of course, be limited to repetition or rereading. Active revision frequently necessitates reorganisation of the initial material and so demands a through understanding of everything that has been learned. Sometimes examination questions do not require you to reproduce information in exactly the same way it was learned. So you should revise your notes updating and modifying them in the light of your later learning .Fifth ,frequent discussions with other students especially in small groups can be of great benefit when revising. The defferent interests, the strength and weakness of the participants in each group will add to the learning and provide some kind of balance. It is also possible for such a group to prepare a mock examination paper as a trial .Following the steps given will make a student well prepared fo his exams.
