Library

A library is a collection of books for reading. In our country the term "Library " is wrongly used. We mix up libraries with bookshop. We call a university library a library, and also a book shop a library. But a bookshop is not a library. The library can be classified into various type. A personal library is one which a person gradually build up over decades, by buying books for personal study.It can be used by all the members of the family as well.Books are not issued from this kind of library. Another type of library is there which we may call Institutional library. It can be named according to where it belongs. If it belongs to a collage we call it College library. If it belongs to a university we call it a University library. Such a library is meant for by the teachers and students of such an institution.Large organisation may have their libraries. They are meant for the recreation and intellectual development of the members of an organisation.Gor example, The library of the lions as an organisation. A particular area in a townor village msy have a club.Such a club may have a library for the intellectual development of the members of the club. Again,there may be a public library in a town.Such a library is managed by the government, and anybody of the town or outside the town may become a member of such library, and can have books issued to them subject to some term and conditions. Still another kind of library may be there in big cities or Divisional towns.Such a Library is managed by the foreign government. The British Council library or the USIS library in Dhaka is such a one. Thus different categories of library may be there in a country, and people may use them according to their convinience
