Sugar is produced from sugar cane and suger beets. They are two kinds of plants and grow in different climates. Sugercane grows in the topics and suger beets grow in teperate zones. Suger produced from these different plants in indistinguishable. Sugercane stalks, when they grow to height of 7 to 15 feet, are cut and taken to a suger mill.Machines at the suger mill wash, cut and shred the stalks into a pulpy mass.Water in continuelly sprayed on this pulpy mass and it is crushed between roller to squeeze out the sugary juice, called cane juice. The cane juice a dark greyish-green colour now, is heated to a boiling point. Then chemicals are added to remove impurities. Next, the juice is put in huge tanks to evaporate. A thick syrup is then heated to remove more and more water.Ultimately, crystals form. These crystas are separated from the syrap. Then they are put into a centrifuge machine. The machine spins it around rapidly.Raw suger is left inside the cylinders of the machine. This suger can be used. But it is still more refined. It is sent to a refinery. There it is dissolved, and treated with chemicals, filterred, and crystallized once more. Then it is allowed to solidify into pure white suger.Best suger is produced in the same way as cane suger.
