Effective parenting

The parent can be described as the farmer that produces agricultural output (children). They are the set of people their children will love to be with every time. It is required of them to cater for the feeding, shelter, and give their children necessary knowledge for life sustainability. The aforementioned three duties are basic and will be a sustainer for the child.

Nutrition: feeding

Nutrition simply means feeding, feeding isn't about eating three times daily, it even exceeds drinking tea and eating junk. Proper feeding affects the body positively. The brain's intellectual capacity, effective sight, and unaffected growth will come as a result of proper feeding. The proper feeding should start from birth, parents are urged to feed their child for at least 18 months as it has a great influence on the development and growth of the child. Apart from physical growth and the body system development, proper feeding will prevent the child from bad activities like stealing, betting, and other dubious activities. 

The majority fail in this aspect thereby losing control over their children.

Parenting and Education

The best set of education that will be impactful in the life of children is imbibing the fear of God in them. It will make other knowledge easy for them to acquire and also make them acquire positive ones.

At a point in time, some children are said to lack home training simply because parents are unable to inculcate the norms and etiquettes of the society in them.

Education is of three forms; formal, informal, and non-formal. The formal aspect was to deal with learning within the four walls of the classroom. Informal simply defines teaching and imbibing the norms and values of the society which has no restrictions as a matter of fact teaching of manners and etiquettes fall in this category. The non-formal form of education can be seen in two forms: professional skills and vocational skills. Professional skills like blogging, programming, and coding among others. Vocational skills like tailoring, barbing, carpentry, and bricklaying among others. This form of education will be of benefit to the children in the home, within the society, among peers, and in the nearest future.

Parental encouragement and support for learning activities at home combined with parental support in schooling are critical to children's education. It shows that building effective partnership between parents, families, and school to support children learning lead to improved learning outcome in society.

Parent engagement has shown a positive impact on many indicators of student environment, parent should create good care of education. Parents should teach their children good moral conduct, they should provide materials for their children which may help them in school in performing some tasks.

The importance of productive partnerships between students, parents, carers, families, school, and the broader community in maximizing student engagement and achievement in the declaration of education goals for young scholars. Considered broadly, parents should engage in partnership between families, schools, and communities, raising parental awareness of the benefit of engaging in their children's education and providing them with the skills to do so, which may guide them through their career opportunities in life.

Another aspect of education parents neglect is Sex Education. This aspect of education is important for both the male and female child. It will surely reduce domestic violations, rape cases, and unavoidable premarital sex.

There is a saying that charity begins at home, it is rare to see a child well trained in an unpleasant situation. Research has shown that a notorious set of people are produced from a bad parent or as a result of bad parenting.

Provision of shelter

There is a saying that goes thus "the atmosphere you permit determines the product you produce" the environment we live in has many effects on the children's upbringing. 

Children living in rowdy places or slums tend to behave irrationally more than children living in reserved areas. 

Parents nowadays don't look after their children's peers unlike before, parents should know the type of friends their children move with. The saying "show me your friend and I know who you are" denotes that friends have the same ideology, same path and tend to influence one another easily. 

Parents should dedicate enough time to being with their children at home. What can we say of parents that leave home at early hours and return late at night, to God who made me they will surely be a loser in the aspect of parenting because they will surely neglect their duty.

With the current situation we face in Nigeria, I will opine that the parenting sector has failed. Is the security problem, ritual killings, youth engaging in secret association, drug addictions, and other dubious activities.

It's not over until it's over, change begins with an individual, for a better nation we need to take care of our parenting department. A good parent will deliver better children and don't forget that it's a closed circuit, the children will later be a parent.
