Alexander Zverev reached the men's singles final of the US Open for the first time. In another semifinal, Dominic Thiem lost to Russia's Daniel Medvedev and got a ticket to the final. The two tennis stars will compete in the title match of the 2020 US Open on Sunday.
Both have never tasted a Grand Slam win. So the new king is going to get the US Open.
Zverev lost the last four fights at the beginning of Saturday. In the semi-finals, which ended in five sets, Zverev won 3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 and 6-3. He lost the first two sets 3-6 and 2-6 at Flashing Meadows in New York, USA. He reached the final by winning the next three sets.
On the other hand, Dominic reached the final for the fourth time by defeating Daniel 6-2, 6-7 and 6-7. He had reached the final three times before but did not touch the title. This star is on the verge of fulfilling his dream for the fourth time.
On the other hand, Victoria Azarenka and Naomi Osaka advanced to the women's singles final. Victoria Azarenka of Belarus advanced to the semifinals after defeating US tennis star Serena Williams 1-6, 6-3, 6-3.
In the other semi-final, 2016 champion Naomi Osaka got the ticket to the final by defeating the 28th seed Jennifer Brady of the United States 6-7, 3-6, 6-3.
