Uncle Abdul Jalil Munshi, 52, was killed in a dispute over a house in Kalia upazila of Narail. The incident took place at North Dumuria village near Naragati police station around 9:30 pm on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Jalil Munshi, son of late Kala Mia of the village.
According to the police, his nephew Aynal was having a dispute with Abdul Jalil Munshi over the residence. Due to this, they had a quarrel at around 9 pm last night. At one stage, he hit Uncle Jalil in the stomach with a mirror spear and fled.
The critically injured Jalil was rescued and taken to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital at 10:30 pm. The doctor on duty declared him dead.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Kalia Circle) Ripon Chandra Sarkar said, "The murder was due to a land dispute between uncle and nephew. Evidence of the murder has been collected and police are continuing to search for Aynal.
