Bangladesh's first online virtual educational tutoring platform 'Diksha' has started its journey. Rina Khanam, a woman entrepreneur and CEO of the platform, announced the good start of Diksha through an online event last Thursday.
Rina Khanam said, ‘We are all familiar with online classes now. From universities to schools অনলাইন online learning platforms are now very popular in all educational institutions. Deeksha is one such online platform. Deeksha is the first online virtual classroom in our country. '
Rina Khanam added, ‘I thought a lot of things are happening online these days. Then tuition can also be done online. While dealing with tuition, I saw that online tuition is now very popular in many developed countries. There is no need for the teacher or the student to go anywhere. Students can read from their home at any convenient time. I began to use my long teaching experience. Some more working people have joined us. '
Raihan Al Islam, Deeksha's Chief Technical Officer, said, "As a student of computer science and engineering, I have always been interested in working on a new program. Since it is an educational platform we chose ‘Wave’ meaning ‘White Board Audio Video Environment Technology’. The technology is used in various educational institutes around the world. I have tried to connect the good features from them. Apart from that, we are constantly trying to add new necessary features. '
Raihan Al Islam added, ‘Initiation classrooms are now being used by many as an online tutoring platform. Apart from this, it is also possible to use the initiation classroom to conduct training and individual courses. '
Ferdousi Shanta is working with Deeksha's operation team. He said, ‘Digital education system is needed to build a digital Bangladesh. Initiation virtual classroom can be one of the milestones.
Ferdousi Shanta said, ‘Currently more than four and a half thousand teachers are associated with Diksha. Our operations team is in constant contact with them. We are trying to go through online support for teachers and students during this difficult time. We give them the opportunity to keep in touch with the students and to teach them. This has created an additional income opportunity for them as well as enabling them to continue their studies. Many of our teachers are also teaching online outside the country, through which foreign currency is coming into the country. '
Ferdousi Shanta added, "Many online meeting softwares are now used in the country, which requires our hard-earned foreign currency to flow out of the country." If a native software like Deeksha can be used everywhere in the field of education, then the country will benefit and the teachers and students of our country will be economically self-sufficient. '
