
Police have recovered the body of a woman with her hands, legs and face tied from a bedroom at Charghat in Rajshahi. Police recovered his body on Tuesday (September 6th) morning.
The deceased was identified as Rehena Begum, 60. She is the wife of Belal Hossain (65) of Anupampur village in the upazila. Belal Hossain has been taken into police custody for questioning.
Charghat Model Police Station OC Samit Kumar Kundu said the woman was initially thought to have been killed by suffocation. However, an autopsy will confirm how he died.
The OC said Bellal and his wife Rehena Begum went to bed in their bedroom on Monday night after dinner. On Tuesday morning, Bellal shouted, "Who killed my wife?" Neighbors came to her bedroom screaming and saw corpses lying on the bed with mosquito nets, hands and legs tied.
Samit Kumar Kundu said that after receiving the news, the police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy. However, the woman's old husband has been taken into police custody due to suspicion in the conversation.
