An economic adviser to the Prime Minister of India. Asima Goyal said India needs to take strong action in trade with China in the context of the border situation.

In an interview with the BBC in Delhi, he said that India was benefiting from trade with China, but that India needed to take a tougher stance on the issue, with equal opportunities to enter the Chinese market.

"Now is the time to tell China to fix its behavior," he said. Gayal is a professor at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in Mumbai.

The remarks of this adviser of Narendra Modi clearly echo the statements of the Trump administration of the United States regarding China. But does India have the power to put pressure on China?

Anti-China sentiment in India is on the rise after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a clash with China on the Ladakh border in mid-June.

The boycott of Chinese products is being called from various quarters. Amid public outrage, Narendra Modi's government has banned more than 150 Chinese software apps in two phases. China has imposed strict restrictions on investment. Import of color TV from China has been banned.

The Prime Minister's economic adviser said. "India needs to take this step," he said. Because the security of the information is very important, and the emotions of the buyers should be given priority.
