The art of disagreeing with what someone posted on their timeline is a very delicate one. It is not surprising to see disagreements escalate to fights on people's timelines. But is there a way to disagree in a matured way? Yes there is.

Telling someone you think they are wrong is not what makes them wrong. Telling them they are wrong is not what makes them wrong. Insulting them for sharing their opinion is not what makes them wrong.

You have to present facts that will prove them wrong. Someone once said we are all entitled to our own opinions but we are not entitled to our own facts. Facts stand alone. It has nothing to do with our opinions.

My simple recommendation is to always ask questions. Even if you are 100% certain that the person is wrong, don't tell them they are wrong. People don't like to be told that they are wrong.

Paint a scenario that will reveal their flaw. Give them a case study that will make them think. Ask a question that will reveal a different angle to what they have posted.

The bottom line is to let the person finally discover for themselves that they are not right in their postulation. And even if they still refuse to own up, walk away without insulting the person. You don't have to end the relationship because you disagree in one aspect.
