Hmmm, Looters...
These days, I hear the word "Looters" everywhere (news, mouth-to-mouth, social media, everywhere).
Then I began asking myself; what does looting means? Are these Looters excited about being called that? Is it worth being called looters?
As defined by Wikipedia, Looting is an act of stealing or the taking of goods by force, in the midst of a military, political, or other social crisis, such as war, natural disasters or rioting (where law and civil enforcement are temporary ineffective).
Looting is a force act i.e, many of these Looters are forced to do what it takes in order to survive. In some cases, it may even be encouraged by government for political or other reasons including economic ones.
In short, people are frustrated, tired, hungry, sad even oppressed by the so called government elected to serve them.
Do you know around 9million people die of hunger and hunger-related diseases every year? This is even more than AIDs, malaria and tuberculosis combined death statistics. Yet, government that are to serve and protect us starved major people during the lockdown periods by locking up billions naira worth of food contributed by CaCovid.
Are they not looters themselves to have done this confidently and unbothered? Who knows if the government locked up the palliatives for another political ambitions...
Don't get me wrong, I don't support looting and destroying of private and other Hustlers' properties neither is it a good act. But, I don't confirm looting of the locked up CaCovid palliatives.
People had to do what they had to do to survive. Even some military, army and security officers allowed and joined in the looting as seen in the video circulated.
I rest my case.
