A short horror story

Dan and Joe were more than just friends, they were brothers. They did a lot of stuff together, like climbing trees and robbing banks. But on one of this robberies Joe was shot in the stomach, and they had to go for a run. With the police on their back and Joe bleeding out they were already in a bad situation, but on top of that Dan was a lousy driver and since Joe was in no condition to drive the van they had stolen, Dan had to do it, and they were totally doomed. Dan did his best to evade the police and get away but despite his efforts he got stuck in traffic and his only way out was across the sidewalk, so he hit the gas pedal to the max and gave everything he had to get away. People were alarmed by the police sirens that hauled behind the van and tryd to avoid it by jumping out of its way but some of them were hit by it as Dan was totally losing it. He killed 4 people with the van and hurt 3 more seriously before he finally crashed into the wall of a building after he was rammed by a police car. Joe wasn't belted and was thrown out of the windshield and against the wall, that turned his head into a red pulp and sprayed his brain all over the demolished van's cowling. When Dan realized that his brother was dead and that he already was surrounded by the police, he tried to shoot himself out of the situation. He jumped out of the van and tryed to start shooting at the cops, but they sprayed him with bullets before he could even pull the trigger. Dan thought he had made his last breath but to his surprise he woke up in a hospital, he was lying in a hospital bed when he opened his eyes and his brother was standing right in front of him." What the hell? Joe, how is this even possible? I.... I watched you die! Brother... "Dan was so overwhelmed by his feelings, he couldn't think clear. Joe silently looked into his eyes with a maniacal grin on his face and said" You did a lot of bad Shit Danny boy and now it's time to pay up your bill". Right after the words came out of Joe's mouth the whole room underwent a change and everything turned black. Everything went dark but Dan could still see Joe clearly, like he was standing outside on a sunny day. Everything felt unreal to Dan, but he knew that he wasn't dreaming, never had he experienced this kind of fear before in his shady existence, he tried to scream, but he just didn't manage to bring out any words, he thought about running, but he wasn't able to move his body at all, also there was no place to run for him because all he could spot was dark emptiness. One after another the 4 people that were killed by Dan showed up from the emptiness, staring at him with an expressionless face. Joe's face morphed into a skull and as Dan looked into the Grim Reapers face that was now revealed to him, he heard the reaper say " I'm going to make you pay, I'm going to make u suffer" after the reaper ended his sentence a van showed up out of nowhere and hit Dan, shattering his bones and hurting him badly. His whole body was aching and the pain was immense but Dan was still cautious, and all he could do was looking in the dead and empty eyes of his victims. After a while full of suffering and pain, that felt like eternity to Dan, he was passing out, and then.... He woke up again in a hospital lying in a bed with his brother standing in front of him.......
