Julian Assange - and how useless democracy is

The court decided today that Julian Assange can be extradited to the US. I watched this interview with his Fiancé and it really left me thinking WHAT is going on in the world, you know?

Who is Julian Assange?

He is the creator of Wikileaks and is a self-professed computer hacker (since a teenager).

Note to this post: Everything in here is my own opinion about him.

He released documents which showed a side of governments and "forces" that the powers that be didn't like. And you know what? They made up a rape allegation as well (which was later dropped) just so they could try and get hold of him.

Why should we care about what's happening to him?

Simply put, because we are not mushrooms, we are not some bunch of idiots that need to be kept in the dark while "the powers that be" make their plans in the background and commit their evil acts.

Exposing the truth has caused this man irreparable loss of life

"But he's not dead" you may say. No, he isn't - but how can you claim you are living when you are an honest citizen who has no access to his family, no normal life, and you are being punished behind bars for exposing the TRUTH? That's not living.

I hope that all that is going on will serve as a warning to people who still believe that governments have your best interests at heart. That has never been the case, and never will be. Do you know who does? YOU have your best interests at heart. YOUR family. YOUR friends. YOUR bubble. These people who sit at the top and spout orders, make decisions and give the general population our rules to follow. They decide where our taxes go. They decide which roads they fix, which ones they don't. They decide who gets paid, and who gets taxed to all hell.

They decide that you will be imprisoned for exposing their despicable acts.

I don't believe he will see the light of day once they get him there

They will likely throw him in a hole somewhere and use the tactics that he exposed of the war crimes - they will likely do horrific things to him "because they can". He will never have a fair court case for anything. All those who are in power who have allowed the torture and abuse of this man to continue for all these years - I hope that they receive a wonderful dose of karma one day soon.

Remember which side of the line of truth that you walk on

Remember that just because what you are doing is right, doesn't mean it will be rewarded. What it will means is that you may suffer horrible consequences for telling the truth. That is what "democracy" has become.

Democracy allows a majority of people to make decisions about your life. Democracy allows for your opinion to be worthless if it isn't the opinion of the moment.

It wasn't until joining this site did I learn about Voluntarism. And how important that way of life is. How beautiful would this world and our lives to be today if we all just did what needed to be done and contributed productively?

Then I got to reading posts by @sanctuary.the-one-law who has ideas which I am yet to disagree with (go check out his posts, they are incredibly interesting).

The concept of life (to me) should be based on goodness. Doing things for good. Not allowing others to dictate your life to you. Working for the common good while ensuring YOU live YOUR life.

Where is the justice for people like Julian Assange and Ross Ulbricht?

Unjust sentences, unjust everything. There are people in the world who have committed violent acts, taken lives, caused irreparable harm and trauma to those around them. They walk free amongst us. You might very well run into a murderer or rapist while you are doing your grocery shopping who the governments of the world believe has been "rehabilitated" by jail time.

But those in power will make sure that every resource possible goes into people like Julian and Ross - making sure they suffer for their crimes. "Crimes"

Isn't funny how freedom is beginning to be a crime these days?

I hope Boris Johnson and his cronies choke on their cheese and wine

Do you know what the most disgusting thing is about this whole pandemic? It's people like you and I who have been affected. Not those in charge. Show me one public official who has lost his job. Show me one person employed who is in charge of making the decisions that deny us the right to work, who has been affected the way you and I have. You won't find one.

While people were separated from their loved ones. While people died alone because of government restrictions. While that father missed the birth of his child. While people sat alone at home crying at a time that is supposed to be filled with joy. While that Granny sat alone in her house without seeing her grandchildren and knowing she wouldn't make it to this Christmas...

Skip to 20 seconds in over here:

While my Fiance and I stared a tiny screen on Christmas day speaking to each other (we are nearly 2 and a half years apart now) these clowns were having their parties whilst denying citizens the right to see their families.

It is not the fact that the party happened that angers me - it is the fact that there must be ONE rule for everyone. Not a rule for those in charge and then rules for the rest of us.

Look at what they did to Julian Assange - I wonder how long the person is going to last who leaked the footage of this incompetent silly giggling sorry excuse for an advisor?

I do hope that you will all stand up for what is right

When they lock you down again this year - I hope that you will rise up and say NO. I hope that you will go and see your family, laugh with your friends. I hope that you will say no to a dictatorship and YES to life.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I have got more chance of being raped and murdered on my way to work than I do of dying from COVID-19. That is a fact. That is what this country is like. I don't refuse to go out of my house and earn an income for a crime that gruesome, yet here the government is - locking healthy people down again.

Remember what Christmas is about - if you are religious and if you are not. It's about giving thanks. It's about the celebration and togetherness of Christ's birth. Even if you do not believe in the Bible and the original meaning behind Christmas. Believe in the fact that it is the time of the year you belong with your family. You are not supposed to be alone while the politicians are partying.

Stand up. Stand strong. Share the love this Christmas - you never know what is around the corner. Don't regret that hug you never got. Don't regret that time you could have spent with someone you care for.

This is a good article. Perhaps you would like my "Assorted Absurdities of Democracy" as well. https://read.cash/@Mictorrani/assorted-absurdities-of-democracy-ce00a359 I have never had any illusions about democracy.

You should definitely take a look and read more into his case. It's really one of the saddest things I've ever read about and followed. Freedom is not what it used to be.

He spoke the truth & exposed everyone. That's why he is being punished.

True words. Sad. Hopefully someone will make justice happen, but I've lost faith in the justice system.

It's quite unbelievable how this man whom should be treated as an hero, honoured by the UN even, has been treated like a criminal and those who claim to stand for truth, justice and freedom have been the ones doing this even, and those who aren't immediately part of it have stood by and let it happen

He is locked away while murderers, rapists and paedophiles walk free. You are so right, I hope those who have stood by face their own form of justice / judgement day.
