The Filipinos we see on TV are tall. They mainly consist of mixed race or through a lineage of Spaniard ancestry. It goes the same for the basketball players who are 6+ feet tall.
But, we(including me) common Filipino who is just a good citizen isn't so tall. Just about 5′4 would be considered a good height. 5′7 would be tall. Those we see who are dark skinned and tall are usually mixed with some black ancestor or if you see one who's dark brown is usually mixed with some Hawaiian.
Basically, any Filipino who is taller than 5′6 is most likely mixed race.
On another note, if you wanted to know which Asian group is the tallest; that would be the South Koreans. Their average height is 5′9 while in North America, it's 5′10. Is fairly common to see a 6 foot to 6′4 full blooded South Korean like you do in North America when you see big and tall white/black men.
Though the average height for women in the US is 5′8, it's 5′6 in South Korea. Honestly, I always wondered why the women are much shorter than the men. But, you do often see tall 5′10 South Korean women that are usually wealthy, in business, or middle classed citizens. I guess it just has to do with nutrition provided in certain areas and locations depending on your income. Just like how some Africans are fairly short like Filipinos because of malnutrition versus the Africans in the US who are tall.
