In this decade, there is a battle that the all of us are currently facing, and this is climate change. It is said that before 2030, we must lessen our carbon emission or else we will lose this battle. And if we lose, it means the effects of global warming will no longer be reversible.
How awful would that be for us and for the future generation? And we do not want that to happen. So, what should we do?
A lot of us might get worried about helping the world to heal. Reasons might be because, first,we do not have the money to buy innovative stuff. Things that are said to be helpful for the environment. And second, we're worried because we do not have the great minds of our scientists who think of ways to save our earth.
But really, we do not need to become a prodigy nor to be rich. Nor do we have to become as great as Elon Musk in making innovations. All that we need are a few simple steps that could help heal the only planet where life exists.
In this article, we will be discussing about the simple ways that we could contribute to battle global warming.
5 Easy ways to fight Global Warming
1. Lesser to Zero Carbon Emissions
There are a few ways that all of us can do to contribute to lessen the carbon emissions. One is to choose not to use cars when our destination is near enough to be walked. Or if we do not want to walk, then we could ride our bicycles instead.
Also, we should avoid burning our garbages— which seems to have become a normal thing to do. It is not, because it harms our ozone layer which protects us from the harsh rays of the sun.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
2. Reduce, Reuse, Recycled
We must apply to our daily lives the 3 R's that we learned from school for a sustainable way of living.
Reduce the wastes that we produce. Let's buy the things we only need, preferably in bulks so less packaging.
Reuse the items that are still useful. For example, let's refill disposable water bottles for another use. And also, let's try to get eco-friendly bags instead of plastic bags so that we can use them again.
Recycle the items that are recyclable instead of throwing them away. Things like glass, cardboards, and aluminum are things that can be used for another purpose. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
3. Plant, water, grow!
Did you know that planting more trees, and just generally increasing green leaves in our environment could help us indirectly lessen the heat? This is because the leaves of the plants replaces carbon dioxide in the air with water vapor, which then leads to the earth's cooler surface.
Plants also provide us shades during hot days, a home for animals, and also a source of meal for both animals and humans.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
4. Renewable Energy
A huge step in preventing climate change is by avoiding the usage of fossil fuels. And in exchange, we should use renewable energy such as these famous alternative energy: solar, and wind. Other renewable energy like geothermal and biomass are also acceptable. Liquid energy these days are also a trend!ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ
5. Resource Efficiency
Although it is very important that we do our best to produce and use clean energy, reducing our usage of energy and water everyday is just as vital. We must bear in mind that we should only use what is enough, what is needed in our daily needs.
Example is, 1.) using LED lights instead of those bulbs that consume too much; and 2.) Recycle water. Do not throw away the last batch of water we used in washing clothes and instead, use that water for cleaning our bathrooms and watering the plants.
You see, there are more to those listed above that we can do to help fight climate change. But the things I listed, i believe, are the easiest ways we can do to help. We do not have to be rich, nor to be a scientist to contribute to this fight. All that we need is proper information and the will to do these helpful steps.
