Article #1.

Today I decided to bake a bread loaf. I searched for recipe from our friend, Google.

I made the white bread based on the recipe from Brown Eyed Baker. It was easy to follow and upon checking the pantry, I have all the ingredients needed to bake the white bread.

Preparation takes around 20 minutes while cooking in the oven is around 30 minutes. But the resting time is quite long which is around an hour and 40 minutes.

So I started early, around eleven in the morning. I have all the ingredients ready and the baking dish to be used cleaned and prepared.

Here are the ingredients should you want to try baking this white bread.

  • 4 and a half teaspoons of instant yeast

  • ¾ cup + 2 2/3 cup warm water (the ¾ cup water is used for the yeast to grow)

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 3 tablespoon of unsalted butter at room temperature

  • 9-10 cups all purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted for brushing

The following is the procedure in baking the white bread.

Combine ¾ cup water and the yeast, set aside for five minutes

  • Combine the following ingredients together :  2 2/3 cups water, sugar, salt, butter and 5 cups flour, stir to combine. Pour the water with the yeast and stir some more

  • Slowly add the remaining flour until the dough is soft but not sticky, knead the dough. Continure kneading until a soft ball of dough forms and clears. This is around 10 – 15 minutes of kneading.

  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with plastic and let it rest for around 45 minutes to an hour.

  • After the resting time, punch the dough to remove the air, gently knead again and divide into the size needed, mine is based on the pan that I have.

  • Let it rest for another 30 – 45 minutes.

  • Heat the oven for around 400 degrees F.

  • Brush the loaves with melted butter and put in the oven and bake for around 30 minutes.

  • Remove from the oven and brush more butter. Let it cool for around 10 minutes before serving.

Since the mixture is intended for a bigger pan and mine is small, I was able to make other kinds of bread with the dough. I made a cheese de sal and dinner roll.

Perfect pair for a hot coffee.
