Odong or Bisaya egg noodles are easy to buy in the markets and grocery stores in the Philippines. It is usually in yellow color and it is wrapped with sticks or loops. In Visayas and Mindanao it is usually cooked with different versions. My version is with sardines. Sardines are rich in protein and noodles are rich in carbohydrates for energy. For more healthier version, it can also be cook with vegetables such as chayote, loofah or other leafy vegetables. This dish is so simple to make and very affordable especially in this quarantine.

Ingredients:

4 pcs. Odong sticks

1 can of Sardines

1 small onion

2 cloves of garlic

2 tbsp. of cooking oil

Water

salt and pepper to taste

How to prepare:

1. Heat the pan and add oil.

2. Saute with garlic and onion.

3. Add the sardines

4. Add salt and pepper

5. Pour the water. (If there is a sauce left in the can, Filipinos usually add a little water then shake it and pour it to the simmer so that there will be no sauce left.) Let it boil.

5. Add the Odong and cook it for 5-8 mins.

6. Serve it while it's hot.

Voila! You have a delicious Odong and Sardines. A typical Filipino meal with a sophisticated taste! Enjoy!
