Tricks kidnappers use to get their victims and how to avoid the pitfall

Kidnapping is a crime of taking person(s) against their will especially for a ransom. It is a very rampant crime in the society today and it is no more news that it is very common in different countries, and even in Nigeria.

Kidnappers extort their victims by collecting huge of money for their ransom and some also kill their victims for rituals.

Different measures have been taken by the government and security agencies to fight against kidnapping and rituals making in the society.

There are different ways kidnappers use to get their victims and we need to be aware of them and be security conscious. They attack people while traveling and then move them to an undisclosed area. They can also abduct people from their homes and places of work.

There is another way they use to carry out their activities and we need to be aware of it. People that market and sell their products online are most likely prone to this. The kidnappers patronizes them as a willing buyer of their products and tell them to meet in a particular place, mostly a silent environment. Some may even direct the seller to come straight to their hotel room, lock the room and do whatever they want to do with them which include rape and even murder.

How can this be prevented?

This pitfall can be avoided. First, if you are into marketing your products online and upon delivering it to the buyer, try meeting in an open or busy place and not in a quiet place.

Second, do not meet any buyer you don't know in an hotel room, you can meet in an open place around or the bar. Also, try as not to go alone and be security sensitive to the environment.
