Hello guys,
Today, I'm writing on something that's very important and uncommon. Yes! Patience is rarely seen in some individuals.
According to The English Dictionary, patience is the quality of being patient- which is to content to wait if necessary; not losing one's temper while waiting; not bothered with having to wait; not unwilling to wait. All these best describe patience.
Many people find it difficult to be patient for a while. They hasten to take decision on certain things without proper insight on it. They are in a rush to take decision in life. It's good to take steps, that's how we move and grow but it is necessary to carry them out patiently, painstakingly.
I want to share a real life experience. It actually happened to a neighbor of mine who is also a friend. He applied for a job in a neighboring State in my country. He had all the credentials that can guarantee him of that position of a branch manager for the company. He also had a good working experience in that field.
Two weeks after his application, he was called up for an interview. The interview was scheduled to hold on a Monday by 8:00am and everyone is expected to be at the center by at least 7:30am.
Because of the timing and traveling down to the state is about three hours journey, so he decided to go a day before the interview date. Luckily for him, he has a friend that stays not too far from the location of the interview, so he decided to stay with him for the period before the interview.
After arriving to his friend's place in Lagos, the busiest State in Nigeria, and lodging a while, then comes the D-Day. He set out very early in the morning about 5:00am because of the traffic congestion he'll pass through. People familiar to this can relate.
He got to the company location decently dressed up by 7:15am with all his necessary credentials and was amazed to meet 54 people already seated, awaiting the interview. By the set time for the arrival of people, the total number reached 72.
Few minutes before the interview time, the receptionist informed them that the panel (board of directors) will soon arrive. This later turned out to be untrue as the people waited for hours. After about four hours of waiting, people started to take their leave, loosing hope and blaming the company for such an act . Some minutes before the business closure for the day, the receptionist came to address them that the interview has been postponed till the next day and apologized for any inconveniences. There were only 25 people left on their seats out of the initial 72.
The next day came and also happened to be like the previous day. This time, thirteen people out of twenty five also left, some complained of traveling from a very long distance just to meet up a situation like this. Another interview was scheduled for the following week Wednesday and my neighbor had to travel back home.
The week came and my neighbor got encouraged to travel back. Amazingly, there were only four people in attendance. As usual, there was no interview that day and we're told to come on Friday before 8am . My neighbor and another lady tried catching up with the time and arrived there before 8am while the remaining two arrived few minutes after and we're disqualified. They had allowed discouragement set in.
The two people qualified were then interviewed. My neighbor got the job of a branch manager based on his vast years of experience and the lady was offered the job of sales manager which was never announced earlier.
The interview was a test of patience. To some, when you're too patient, it means foolishness, which is not so. Never let discouragement set in but strive. Try to exercise patience with things of life, it will surely come.

Good story illustrating the important of patience. Indeed without it there can be no true success in life. Those who are in haste often miss out of the way.
