A California mother who told her daughter to attack an opponent during a youth basketball game has been fined nearly $10,000, according to a report.
Tira Hunt was heard on video last November telling her daughter to go at her opponent who had just gotten tied up with her after a shot attempt.
Hunt was fined $9,000 U.S. and put into a diversion program instead of facing up to two years in jail from the two misdemeanor counts she had been charged with following the incident, TMZ reported.
Hunt’s daughter is also the offspring of former NBA player Corey Benjamin, who played parts of four seasons in the League.
The victim’s mother went to police and Hunt was charged in December.
