New Zealand citizenship turned out to be the most convenient for travel - its holders can freely visit 129 countries of the world during the coronavirus pandemic. It is reported on the website of the analytical company Passport Index.
Thus, New Zealand is ahead of Germany, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Japan, South Korea and Australia, whose citizens can enter 128 countries without special documents and restrictions.
"It turned out that the New Zealand passport strengthened its position after the authorities reached an agreement with Australia, which allowed residents of a neighboring state to cross the border without mandatory quarantine".
It is clarified that during the first wave of COVID-19, residents of the country could visit only 80 states. Passport Index spokesperson Hrant Boghossian believes New Zealand's position is evidence that the government has handled the pandemic well.
In July, Japanese citizens were named the most convenient travel citizenship during the coronavirus pandemic. Residents of this country can still travel without visas to 191 countries around the world, even despite the pandemic, since the Japanese are allowed to enter the European Union from July 1.
