It is what It is

As we do our job in a day to day basis, we find days where we are deeply engaged in our craft and able to do everything with enjoyment, and others where we just feel stressed with the thought of looking at It, worrying too much about how all can turn out and If others will like what we're doing. However, there's a great problem with this, as we're crippling ourselves to inaction with a lot of anxious thoughts that have nothing to do with the process though with the outcome, making us much more complacent and lazy, giving us the excuse that "no one's gonna like It anyway" If we're decide to quit. In this article I will talk about the importance of not caring, why thinking too much about how something might turn out can actually detract from Its quality and what not paying attention to the result of what you do though to the process can bring to your life. Let's begin by digging deeper into the topic.

Why so Anxious?

There might be a great project we are trying to do that really aligns with our interest and what we want to dedicate our lives to. As something that answers to our call in life, It will bring a lot of resistance with It, as our brain is deeply opposed and hesitant of something new opposed to complacency and what's familiar to us. That's why It will bring a lot of innecesary fear, excuses and ways of negotiating in order to not pass through all that "tedious" work. This thoughts will pop up regularly in your mind when you're performing that particular activity, which will bring you more distress and will shift your attention from what you are really trying to accomplish, all in detriment to the project.

Now that we know this, we can pass to the antidote of these thoughts, an attitude of simply not caring about how It will turn out and pouring yourself into the work, we can showcase the benefitial effects that "not caring" can bring you:

1.- Much more focus

By not thinking about how that article might be received by people or If It will have a lot of praise you free your mind from these burdens and leave much more room in It to dedicate to the solution of the little problems that make part of the particular project or activity as a whole. By adopting this way of seeing things, you can give much more attention to what really matters.

2.- Increased Creativity

Now that you don't care about what the result will be, you will be much more adventurous with respect to what you want to add, making the work much more original and less a copy of other iterations in the same field.

3.- Much More Fun to Do

Taking out the anxious parts of the creation process, you will be much more entertained with what you do, as you will be concentrated in fixing or putting together all the subsystems in the overall product, learning something and at the same time being much more disciplined with your approach.

I hope that with the presented information you can have a glimpse of why not caring about how something you do might be received can bring a benefitial effect to your life and all your endeavours, making them much more original and better crafted, giving you much more beautiful experiences which to cherish in your craft. Thank you for your support and good luck!
