Usually when we embark ourselves in a project, we tend to make mistakes and forget things along the way. Usually, all of these inconvenients happen because of different factors: either because of things out of our control, our own inexperience or the lack of a precise system to track our progress, usually being the mix of all these variables. However, there has been an effective tool that has been at our disposal since Its invention, which is more antique than you think, checklists. That's why in this article I'll provide you with a series of benefits that the use of written records can bring to your life all so you can give further though to their employment in your daily routine. Let's begin:


Takes the objectives out of your mind:

Many times we find ourselves lost regarding how to begin a particular task, all because we don't know what are the required steps to bring It to Its completion. That's a normal part of the progress as our brain can do all sorts of miracles as a unit of storage, though It becomes a faulty resource when It comes to using It as an office, usually forgetting or distracting us from all the little things that encompass a particular situation. That's why the usage of checklists is so important, as It extracts all those components from our brain and puts It in an effective reminder of what we should do, not wasting our time in unnecesary thinking.

Refining Your Methods

How you do know what went wrong with your progress? By looking at It directly. Surely you'll experience a lot of conflicting emotions with the frustration that comes with things not going the way you want, thoughts that will cloud your judgement and will impede you from looking objectively at what actually went wrong. This doesn't happen with checklists. As they are written since the beginning of the project, they will be there for revision before and after you get through the final stages, letting you analyze while looking at the different parts of the process and correcting those faulty steps in order to make your craft much better.

As I have pointed previously, most times you don't do something because you actually don't know how to do them, or at least you haven't taken a seat to think about It. This first step can be easily applied when making a checklist, forcing you to create a plan of action to get to your goal, pointing all the required objectives along the way, and If you consider some of them harder than others, you just have to break down those components into even smaller parts that you can manage, making your way to the top much more smoother and not giving you time to think in pointless details, giving you a much more automatic set of targets.
