The things I hate the most: Bad Weather, Unpunctuality and writing articles on the Internet.

In this short article, we showcase a great tool that has been in use since a long time, still showing Its effectivity nowadays when It comes to making jokes, the Rule of Three. Let's begin by showcasing what that means.

What's the Rule Of Three:

In a comedic context, the rule of three is simply a comedic rule followed to pitch new jokes or simply write them, establishing that the use of 3 elements, subjects or matters in a joke are more effective for humorous effect. An usual structure for this is where we put two elements that are completely normal and expected as a setup for the expectator and then, at last, a third and completely out of the blue component, adding a nice touch of funny surprise to this last line and closing the joke in a good way.

Examples of the rule of threes:

Here are some recognizable instances of the use of this rule as an effective resource for conveying comedic comments, such as:

Three things in life are certain: Kids, Death and Taxes.

There are only three things women need in life: food, water, and compliments.

I celebrated Thanksgiving in an old-fashioned way. I invited everyone in my neighborhood to my house, we had an enormous feast, and then I killed them and took their land.

With this introduction to this beautiful rule, that not only finds Its place in the world of comedy, we can write a lot of new material, taking only three elements in order to succeed when putting our point across, in a funny way. We hope that this article can be of use to you and that you can see results through the use of this principle. In the next part we'll talk about different ways and types of jokes in which the rule of threes can be used.
