Life could be over in a glimpse

Yes, another article about death

I've repeated my thoughts about death and the importance of being grateful for what and who you have in your life in previous articles countless times. However, I feel like still not enough people understand how short life is (And I know It sounds pretentious coming from a 21 year old), most of them being sad or angry towards people that don't deserve It for things that aren't worth even thinking about. That's why in this article I will try to explain again how our unavoidable demise can act both as a motivational tool and a regulator for your ego, making you both humble and driven towards what you really desire in life. Let's begin:

Stats about Death

It's not a totally certain number how many people have ever walked the earth, though according to estimates from the PRB, It is of about 117 billion members of our species, counting those who still live and those who have long passed away. These statistics just make sure one thing: The fact that no matter what your status is, how you look or who you meet, you only have one destination at the end, a hole six feet under the ground or the fire of a crematory.

Peace from Death

This revelation about our mortality doesn't have to be an invitation to nihilistic thoughts or a feeling of sadness, though one of happiness for having something to remind you of the value of every moment you experience. Yes, your life might not be perfect, though still you have It better than a great amount of people in this world. You can be in a tight financial situation, though you still have Internet Connection, a Bed to keep you warm in the night and a roof to cover you from the rain. You can be struggling with heartbreak, but you still have people that care about you. Maybe you won't spend christmas partying with your friends, though you still have your family to share with.

What I'm trying to say with all this is that things that we usually take for granted have much more value that we assign to them, thing which sadly we'll only realize once they are taken away from us. If you can take away something from this article I hope It can be that you better appreciate what you have while It is still in your possession.

I hope that this article could have been of help to you, talking about death in the way that It always do, not as something to be afraid of, though to keep in mind to push us forward and be humble enough to recognize that all we are is just a little dot in the universe, with our existence being a miracle in Itself, so we can either whine about everything or feel joy for being in this world. Thank you for your support and good luck!
