How to not burn out

Going to 100 20 a day or 80 the first one?

In our cultures we tend to idolize those who work hard and are constantly pushing themselves to their absolute maxes in order to achieve things, wanting to replicate their work ethic in the pursuit of our own goals. However, a problem many of us face is wanting to reach everything in the least amount of time possible, so we throw ourselves in the initial parts of the project with all we have, then ending in the final stages burned out and agotated due to our "fuel" being depleted. What many don't realize is that you can have great results, rest the right amount of hours and live a meaningful and happy life, all at the same time. In order to do this you have to take to not necessarily the path of constant hustle with no sleep in between, though a mindset of discipline, setting a limit for what you will be satisfied with reaching on a day. That's why in this article I will talk about a series of strategies to set a day that you both can enjoy and make productive. Let's begin:

Look at your footsteps:

Do you remember the tale of the Hare and the Turtle?, In this story the latter began at max speed, running with all It had till It found out that the turtle wasn't anywhere near the goal, so It took a little nap. However, the turtle, though slow, kept advancing at a paced rate in a constant fashion, not faster, nor slower, and surely not stopping till It got to the goal, ending the winner of the race. What I'm trying to say with this, is that you shouldn't look at how near others are or how far you are, what you should focus on is to set the right amount of work that you can be satisfied to apply constantly and will let you recuperate in order to advance with the same amount of enthusiasm the next day.

Focus on your rest:

People also tend to understimate the importance of sleep in our lives. Taking hours from our rest and putting them into work will not only affect our humour and the way we deal with others, though It will also affect the quality of what we do and our overall productivity. One way you can solve this is to dedicate the appropiate amount of time for your recuperation, setting an hour in which you can said you have done everything in your day so you can put your mind into rest mode, all in order to feel refreshed when you go back to your job.

Max and Minimum Range

Let's say you are a writer and you have to finish a book. However, you don't know how little is too little when you don't feel like It and you don't know how much is too much when you feel the muse, so you write at an inconsistent pace. One thing you can do to fix this is to set boundaries in what you do, putting up a max of words, pages or any metric to reach in a single day as well as a ground limit, delineating the minimum. This way you'll be much more consistent with what you do giving you a safe way to reach your goals without getting burnt out or feeling like you didn't do enough in a day.

I hope that with the tips presented in this article I could have helped you in some way to deal with the problem of inconsistency or getting tired before reaching the goal. Remember that how you do things is as important as the things you're are trying to achieve. Thank you for your support and good luck!

We all need to work but it doesn't mean that we have to compromise our health for the sake of earning money. We should also spend time resting and giving ourself a break.
