Excessiveness: Opportunist
Deficiency: Dispirited
Virtue: Resilience
So this takes place both in academia and in career, between two people fighting the same struggles and aiming at the same goal, the real battle lies within the motivation that dictates one's actions. Given that greediness on opportunity leads to a person to make decisions that will either eliminate the obstacle or destroying it, for instance in school to get the spotlight for being a top student or passed the exam in easy-way many commit crimes in cheating or destroying another person that seems to be an opponent, stepping on someone to get promoted -this also took place in work areas wherein people in this state are always willing to slit anyone's throat to get what they want.
The deficiency with this one is dispirited, these are the people being overwhelmed by the struggles and gave up the battle. These are the people that are considered as push-overs in both school and work areas, some have a great attitude of hard work but still, won't be given a chance for they are easily manipulated by predators or other competitors.
Lastly, between the two extremities, there is a fine line of virtue called resiliency, the one that never gives up and overcomes the obstacles in the battle. they are the one that is headed up both in achievements and failures. They learn and grow, they purely achieve things, and proved their abilities, and overcome the fear of giving life a shot.
