Don’t be afraid of the dating scene! A lot of women are just as interested in finding a date as you are. If you are new to international online dating, then you may not know how to navigate it. Most don’t want to think that a scammer could prey on them, but the truth is that it does happen. International dating does take a lot of pressure off of traditional dating. Remain alert but don’t give up on online dating. Here are some tips for online dating to help you detect a scam or hypocrisy.

Use Reverse Image Searches
Did you know that you can copy and paste the URL of an image into Google to conduct a reverse image search? One of the easiest ways to tell if you are being scammed is to take the picture and search for it in Google. If you find the name attached to the picture but it does not match your date, then you’re probably dealing with a scammer. These scammers will take pictures from a real person’s social media and adopt their image to scam unsuspecting people.

Look for Patterns in Money Requests
There is nothing wrong with buying gifts for your significant other! If you want to spend money on your loved one, then you should be able to do it. All the same, you should be careful when receiving money requests. For instance, be wary if your date is constantly asking for money for a variety of reasons. Scammers may say that they have sick relatives or that they lost their job. If your relationship starts to revolve around the kind of money you have to offer, then you may be dealing with a scammer.

Search for a Digital Footprint
Almost everyone nowadays has a digital footprint. If you meet someone with no digital footprint, then it should ring alarm bells. Now, this doesn’t mean that the person has to have extremely active social media accounts. Some people still choose not to have a large following on social media. In general, most people have over 100 friends on Facebook and other social media pages. When you look at someone’s Facebook, there should be some form of engagement. Your date’s friends list should not be full of fake accounts.
Scammers rarely post pictures with friends. The social media posts themselves will be inconsistent too. In addition to inconsistencies, there may be applications that scammers avoid. For instance, if you have a date online, odds are, she will want to video chat with you. If you know someone who refuses, even after you’ve been in a relationship for a long time, then this could be a bad sign.
Are you afraid that international online dating may lead to a big scam? There are legitimate concerns when it comes to international online dating. You don’t always know who you are getting close to. When you are dating a scammer, you are dating someone who wants your money and nothing else. If you feel suspicious, one of the best pieces of advice is to ask a friend close to you for input. He or she may spot a scammer quickly.
