Found in tropical forest and woody habitat, the Chimpanzee is a large primate that can be found in western and central Africa.

This species of ape are omnivores which means they feed mostly feed on insect, seeds and fruits.

Chimpanzee are diurnal in nature, as they live together as a family to look after one and the other.

This species of ape can live up to 60 years, weigh up to 70kg and can reach a height 1.7m.

Chimpanzees are social primates, they live in large communities. But, unlike primates that live in troops like baboons, chimpanzees have fission-fusion societies. This means the entire community may never be in one place, smaller parties constantly split off (fission) and come back together (fusion).
